My bad, I was so fixated on the giant mug in the photo that I didn’t think that the 14-ounce capacity would indicate it was much smaller. The model would have to have baby hands because the photo is unequivocally misleading. Even my 8yo couldn’t fit her petite hands in the mug handle to make it appear large as in the picture.
Given the price, I thought I was paying for an oversized mug. Now I have a lovely but smaller mug, and I feel a bit dumb for paying so much. I purchase another mug in the sage color and was sad that the glaze was a solid color with no thinner glaze over the ripples. So it lacks depth and interest. Both my kids agreed these aren’t the same mugs as those online. Hubs is just mad I spent so much for small mugs.

We got the mug perfectly wrapped, with no shipping problems. The mug is comfortable to hold and the color is as described. Nice handmade quality.
This mug would have been perfect except for one thing; there was not enough clay used. Some like the light weight feel, but for me it's also important for the beverage to stay warm as long as possible. Compared to my other mugs, this kept it luke warm for almost half an hour (from a coffee machine), while my favorite mugs reach 45 minutes.
The handle is perfectly large; three manfingers and not touching the side, and the broad base makes it harder to tip over. I'd call the "red" maroon so people who did not see the picture don't expect fire engine red. Beautiful color.

Goodness! But this is a delightfully light piece. And the handle is superb. Even a large hand would find gripping it a pleasure. Both these aspects make me want to reach out for this mug in the cabinet. That alone makes it an excellent ceramic for everyday use. Additionally, it is a breeze to wash by hand, the glaze being such, and the colors remind me of evergreens in snow.

I purchased this coffee mug for my husband who has a pretty big list of requirements for the perfect coffee mug. This mug met the challenge. It's the perfect size, has a comfortably large handle, is nice and stable (not easy to tip over), and it's actually nice looking! He loves it!
