Need a unique and stylish way to store your chess pieces? Enter: the chess piece box. This box includes an engraved and lift-off lid and velvet lined interior. It fits both our small and medium pieces with room for checkers. Made with either solid walnut (dark brown) or hard maple (light blonde) to compliment the wood types used in our chess boards. Request no engraving in the order notes at checkout or additional engraving (names, initials or logos) at no extra cost. *For custom engraving include the following details in the order notes at checkout: 1. Name, initials or logo to be engraved 2. Font type from the list (last picture of the listing) *If no font is chosen, Julius Sans #14 will be chosen as default 3. Placement of engraving (i.e. centered, bottom right corner, etc.) 4. I love this box! I have 4 other chess boxes from House of Staunton, Chess USA, and a Blake and Lake box from Amazon. I use this box to store my smaller analysis chess set. I constantly use it when doing analysis. It is the least expensive box of the bunch but it might be my favorite one to date.

Unfortunately, there are two issue with the box, so I am unable to give 5 stars. The lid does not sit flush with the box. The front left corner of the lid is the only corner that touches the bottom portion of the box. Also there is one bubble on the top side of the bottom portion of the box. It can be seen when the lid is opened. These are somewhat disappointing, but did not take away from the positives.

I love the way the box looks and feels. I love the etching on the lid and the walnut they used. It is a beautiful box.
